V INTERNATIONAL SYMPOSIUM
ON ELECTROMAGNETIC COMPATIBILITY AND ELECTROMAGNETIC
Saint Petersburg, Russia
September 16-19, 2003
The 5th International Symposium on electromagnetic
compatibility and electromagnetic ecology will offer
a new opportunity to scientists, engineers and students
working in the area of EMC to present the progress in
their work and to discuss problems of current mutual
The Symposium traditionally take place at St. Petersburg
State Electrotechnical University “LETI”, Saint Petersburg,
Russia. The previous symposiums were held in June however
in connection with congestion of hotels caused by measures
on celebrating 300th birthday of our city, EMC ' 2003
will be held in September. September is wonderful time
for acquaintance with architecture and museums of city
(the Hermitage, Russian museum and others) and for visiting
famous suburbs (Peterhof, Pavlovsk, Pushkin).

was founded in 1886. The first elective rector of
University was outstanding scientist Alexander S.
Popov, inventor of radio. The University has the following
faculties: Radio Engineering and Telecommunications;
Electronics; Computing Technologies and Informatics;
Electrical Engineering and Automatics; Instrumentation,
Biomedical and Ecological Engineering; Economics and
St. Petersburg Scientific and Technical Society of
a Radio Engineering, Electronics and Communication
named after A.S. Popov
It was created in 1945. The Society unites scientists,
engineers and students working in the field of radio
electronics and communication. It regularly organizes
symposiums, conferences, seminars and issues a magazine
" Radioelectronics and communication".
Leningrad Radio Research and Development Institute
It was created in 1946. The field of its researches
and developments: satellite, radiorelay and radiotelephone
communications, digital TV and audio broadcasting,
electromagnetic compatibility and frequency–territorial
planning of radio communication networks, certification
of radio communication equipment.
It situated at University "LETI". The
staff of firm was collected in 1988 from among the
employees of Radio Electronic Facilities Department.
Their interests in EMC area concern construction radio
transmitter systems, measurement of their parameters,
reduction of nonlinear distortions.
